I Had Hoped for Better

I eat ginger after meals to clear the palate and calm the stomach. I found the taste of this ginger to be sharper than I prefer and with more sugar than I prefer. Frankly, I'd love to have a "no extra sugar" option. So it was OK, but no better than I can get at my local food coop, and came at a slightly higher price than I'm used to.

For a birthday party, I purchased this product for our snack/treat bar. Ginger is staple food in my husband's culture and I was happy to receive compliments on this product from the family.

I always plan to make tea with it or something, but no matter how much I buy, I eat it all as snacks before I do anything else with it. People ask me why I look so young...I tell them it's my diet...NO artificial sweeteners, lots of fruit, nuts, and vegetables, and for snacks: candied ginger.

I've been ordering ginger online for years. Oh Nuts is the absolute best place I've found for candied ginger. The product is excellent, flavorful, and a real bargain. If you are looking for candied ginger you won't find a better product anywhere.

Ginger is always in my house. It's great for nausea, and I also use it in cooking. This site has the best prices for this product, and I can't believe how fast it got here. I would love to see this site expand it's offerings to dried veggies as well, like mushrooms. I also like that they have retail stores, so when I visit my mother in Brooklyn, I can stop by!

"This ginger is fabulous but not for a novice's palate. Healthy, lowers blood sugar and wonderfully spicy for the acquired taste. Worth trying to see if you can develop a habit for this healthy candy. Great in oatmeal, as an addition to salads, in stir-fries and in cottage cheese."

I use the ginger for snacks and when my tummy is a little bit 'off'. Oh Nuts! is extremely fresh and the taste and texture consistent all the way through. No bitter aftertaste or tough, stringy slices.
Very Good But...

I use this as a healthy snack. This candied ginger has consistent high quality throughout (I bought ten pounds) but I would have preferred the version without granulated sugar covering it. That makes it a little more difficult to justify as a snack, and in reality I'm just not that interested in eating granulated sugar... So by the time I got halfway through my ten pounds I was rinsing them off before eating them. Say OhNuts, you can save the cost of the granulated sugar by just leaving it off. We can put it on if we want.

What a great price on these huge pieces of sugared ginger compared to the grocery spice aisle containers. I learned to use ginger while living as an ex-pat in China, and occasionally eat a small piece of this to settle my stomach after a meal. I typically chop them and use them to intensify the flavor of baked gingerbread products. They're delicious in baked scones and have a true, spicy ginger flavor. Will definitely re-order.
