Once upon a time, a silly question was, "Where can I buy red pistachios?" After all, they were readily available, imported largely from Iran, which used the dye to mask unsightly stains from harvesting. But when the U.S. began growing its own, after relations with Iran soured in 1979, the need for dye ended. Still, though, nostalgia has restored a desire for red pistachio nuts, and so Oh! Nuts again offers red pistachios for sale, roasted and salted.

Pistachios are always prized for their taste, seemingly never thought of as nutritional; however, they are quite beneficial. You Can't Go Home Again

For those of you who are yearning for a return to yesteryear, with imported Iranian red salted pistachios -- this ain't it. They look the same, but the red doesn't stain your fingers,(which would be a plus) they're not salty enough, and of course they're not Iranian. On a positive note, they're delivered in a jiffy, almost all the nuts are wide open, they're fresh, taste as good as any, and the red color DOES make you remember the good old days. Final score: we will be regulars, and we're driving over there in the spring!

The Red dye on these pistaschios do not make your fingers hardly red at all or stain them red. Some other company pistaschios I have eaten will make your fingers very red and stain them. The salt added is a perfect amount. An awesome healthy snack.
