California grown almonds are a wholesome and delicious nut and is a product that is available year-round. Almonds are best known to be high in protein, calcium and zinc. Almonds also contain significant amounts of fiber, vitamin E, folate, calcium and other vitamins and minerals. Studies reveal that almonds can lower the risk of heart disease and bad cholesterol and is definately a diabetis friendly food. The almonds are roasted in cottonseed oil and salt is lightly added as a flavor and spice. The size of the roasted salted almonds are 23/25. Most roasted nuts have a shelf life of about eight weeks or longer if kept airtight at room temperature. You could re-roast the almonds in the oven for a fresh flavor and crunch.
