Fresh chestnuts are available only in the late Fall and early Winter season. Chestnuts are best enjoyed cooked or roasted. You can also warm them up in the microwave on high temperature. Heat time varies according to the amount of chestnuts heated.

Due to high moisture content in chestnuts, some chestnuts may arrive discolored. Chestnuts are best stored in the refrigerator.

Great chestnuts

I normally boil my chestnuts, but these just turned to mush, so I am assuming that they may have been previously frozen. However, they were wonderful when I roasted them. I only had 2 or 3 bad chestnuts out of the entire 3 pounds--outstanding!!

Chestnuts are a big hit

After the City of Madison Christmas Parade, we invited citizens to join us in roasting chestnuts over an ope fire. It was a first for the City and a big hit. I think we have started a tradition.

These are some of the best chestnuts I've purchased! Would make one recommendation...that instructions be included on the best way to store them prior to roasting.

I have never eaten chestnuts before. Living in Georgia I've never been able to find them. There is only one thing I can say about them they are delicious!!!I tried them for the first time today and I will be ordering more in the future.Christmas will be here soon and I'm anxious to share them with the rest of my family.
