As the story goes, the children of the marketing director for Airheads at the time helped their dad come up with the name. Knowing that he wanted to come up with a moniker that was as whimsical as the candy itself, he asked his kids, "What would you call your friend who did something silly?" They came up with Airheads and the rest is history!
