I could write an enless ode to these chestnuts but I think I pretty much covered the gist of it. All I really need to say that if you're reading this...just try them. I plan on ordering these things by the truckload, my only fear is that they will all be gone by the end of that day, heh heh heh. Mmmmmmm mmmmmmm mmmmmm MOTHER NATUER KNOWS BEST! How can you tell when you have an evil president....? Nobody is shooting at him, lolz.

Chestnuts are seasonal so fresh ones are only available one month of the year. The packages ones are available all year long from OH NUTs so we can enjoy the delicious treats all year long. They are always fresh and reasonably priced and occasionally, shipped free. Thats when I buy a whole case!

I use these chestnuts for any dish calling for chestnuts, including my mother's famous chestnut stuffing. There is no peeling or pre-cooking required.

I use it as a snack, but before that I have to bake them. I do not like the sogginess. They taste wonderful, great snack and very nutritious!!! I hope you will get them in shels.

I have paid up to $13 for 6 oz of the same quality of roasted chestnut, so this is a real value. I use these in chestnut dressing and other recipes. The pouches are convenient. As these are "made in China," I would not have purchased without the Kosher and USDA organic labels. Still, how these quality standards are administered long distance is a mystery to me. That's why I withheld one star -- because they are made in China, not because of the quality. Also, they have a limited shelf life. The box I ordered in November was manufactured in January and has an expiration date of April next year. So I have five months in which to use up all those chestnuts. Even if I only get halfway through the box, I'm money ahead! And I may try freezing any leftovers...

My whole family just loves the chestnuts from Oh Nuts. I get 2 cases at a time. They are a wonderful snack and also used in dried corn or in a varity of vegetables. The taste of the chestnuts added to certain dishes is awesome. Also use in desserts that call for them. Will never peel a chestnut again since I found these.

Really good price. In fact, I did the math, and I think these organic chestnuts were actually cheaper than the non-organic ones! Very easy to just open the package and use, so I don't have to roast the chestnuts from scratch.
