Delicious and Natural

I grew up eating Carob Pods aka Bokser as a special Tu Bishvat Treat. Only when I was little back in the 1950's all we actually got was a small, dried, hard brown piece too dry to chew. Happily, many of these Carob Pods from Oh! Nuts taste like they were just picked and are soft to bite in to. Of course, one still has to spit out the seeds....

Wanted to introduce son-in-law and his family to Tu B’Shvat, but no local source for bokser, the quintessential fruit of the holiday. These were delicious and delivered in time. My son-in-law thinks we should order them monthly.

If you had a zayde who lined his sport coat pockets with bokser on Tu B'Shevat then this product will bring back memories. Let it soften in your mouth, chew and spit out the seeds and stems. Great low cal chocolate substitute. It was a hit in shul, and my rabbi's son took leftovers to cheder the next week. It is an acquired taste, but once you like it it is endless fun and a great new fruit for what passes for Spring(??) in Wisconsin.

The taste is great but a bit different than carob almonds, raisins, coconut clusters, etc. This is the real thing off the tree. I had the same thing on a visit to Turkey.
