A Purim gift basket that is healthy and delicious: the Oh! Nuts Granola Gift Basket. Old-fashioned values and simple good taste made us select a rustic wooden tray, put on it an array of no-nonsense glass jars and fill it with nourishing wholesome granola. Let other Purim packages be filled with empty calories. Your Shalach Manos this year can give Purim noshers something healthy to munch on. Mishloach Manot that is wholesome. Works great as a Purim corporate gift.
A long time ago in ancient Persian land, stuck in Achashvairosh’s palace so grand
There lived a Jewish hostage maiden
And none could quite understand, why when her menu she planned
She spurned non-Kosher foods with which the kitchen was laden.
There were boar-burgers, ostrich eggs and pork rinds
Monkey brains, crab claws and exotic finds
And yet she said no way, there isn’t any food I’d like to eat today
“But you’re so slim, you oughtn’t diet”
Is what they’d say, but come what may, and no matter what she would weigh
She’d give them a simple list and tell them to buy it.
Raw veggies, ripe fruit, nuts and seeds to crunch
And, if it had existed then, she’d also have granola to munch.
Escape she wants, but cannot, married to a loathsome despot
Staying Kosher in a Traife scene
No pots and pans, no food warmed hot, cold and raw was her menu lot
Poor Esther who was Queen.
In her honor we offer up, glass jars full of crunch, healthy raw granola on this Purim day to munch
(If only Poor Esther had had such a wholesome lunch!)
