Healthy for You

Our pretty orange dried cantaloupe strips and bulk dried cantaloupe chips are rich in vitamins, antioxidants and minerals. They are a sweet, velvety-tasting source of vitamins C and A. Antioxidants can help protect healthy cells in your body.

Although cantaloupes' origins have been traced to Asia, India and Africa, the name of this beautiful orange fruit comes from Italy. Cantaloupes are named after Cantalupo, Italy, where they were grown in the 18th century.

About Dried Cantaloupe:

  • Are dried cantaloupes healthy for you? Even with the water removed, low-fat dried cantaloupes are rich in vitamins A and C, antioxidants and minerals.
  • Do dried cantaloupes have added sugar? We add a touch of sugar to enhance the natural sweetness of our dried cantaloupes.
  • How and how long should you store dried cantaloupe? The USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) advises storing dried fruits in the pantry for up to six months. After opening, your dried fruit can be stored in the refrigerator for another six months or placed in the freezer for one month.
  • How do you soften/reconstitute/rehydrate dried cantaloupe pieces? Rehydrating fruit for certain recipes simply means adding back in the water. The fastest way is to boil water. Then soak the fruit, covered with a paper towel or plastic wrap, in a bowl containing the boiled water for 10 to 15 minutes. After soaking, strain your dried fruit to remove excess water.
