Our shelf-stable raisins are grapes with most (all but about 15%) of the water removed, which makes them even sweeter than ordinary grapes. We have super-plump, chewy and juicy jumbo black raisins and jumbo golden raisins. Order one lb., five lbs. or 30 lbs. of these low-sodium treats with no added sugar.
Vitamin-Rich Raisins
Raisins have lots of good-for-you minerals, as well as vitamins A, B, C, E and K, plus they're egg-free and dairy-free deliciousness. Our currants (smaller and with a tart taste) are also kosher-certified. Order dried currants or grapes available in one-lb. or five-lb. bags and in 25-lb. cases.
We do add a touch of sugar to our yogurt-covered raisins and chocolate-covered raisins. Our 12-count case of dark-chocolate covered raisins in snack-size bags is a favorite to keep on hand for school or office treats, as birthday party treats or as healthy stocking stuffers. We double-dip our plump raisins in non-dairy dark chocolate to create these anytime chocolate-covered raisin snack favorites.
About Raisins:
- Are raisins healthy for you? Dried grapes (aka raisins) have most of the water removed, but not the nutrients. Raisins have vitamins, A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, C, E and K. They are rich in iron, magnesium potassium, zinc, calcium, copper and other minerals.
- Do raisins have added sugar? We have added small amounts of sugar to our yogurt- or chocolate-covered dried raisins to enhance their sweetness.
- How and how long should you store raisins? The USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) advises storing dried raisins in the pantry for up to six months. You can also store in the refrigerator, but make sure they're in an airtight container or wrapping. After opening, you can also place them in the freezer for one month.
- How do you soften/reconstitute/rehydrate raisins? Dried grapes already are 15% water by nature. So there's no need to soften these shelf-stable dried fruits.
